BRANDING & PERSONALISATION

Printing & Branding Technologies

The right branding technique makes the difference. From pad printing and screen printing to laser engraving, embroidery and full-colour digital printing, we help you select the most suitable technology for your product, artwork and quantity.

Each branding method has its own advantages, limitations and ideal applications. Explore the most commonly used techniques for promotional products and corporate merchandise below.

Pad printing on promotional products

Pad Printing

Pad printing is a versatile branding technique particularly suitable for smaller logos and designs, typically up to approximately 7 cm. It can reproduce several spot colours and works on a wide range of materials, including metal, glass, plastic, wood, leather and ceramics. It is especially useful for products with curved or irregular surfaces.

  • Accurate Pantone spot colours
  • Cost-effective for medium and large production runs
  • Suitable for many materials and product shapes
  • Limited print area
  • Not ideal for smooth colour gradients or photographic artwork
  • Durability depends on the material and product use
Screen printing on promotional products

Screen Printing

Screen printing is an established and highly effective method for branding textiles and promotional products with relatively smooth surfaces. Ink is transferred through a prepared screen, producing strong, opaque colours and durable results. The technique is particularly cost-effective for larger quantities and designs using a limited number of colours.

  • Durable, high-quality branding
  • Strong and vibrant colours
  • Cost-effective for larger quantities
  • Less suitable for complex gradients and photographic artwork
  • Limited on highly uneven surfaces
  • Setup costs make very small runs less economical
Laser engraving on promotional products

Laser Engraving

Laser engraving creates a precise and permanent design directly in the surface of the product. It is an excellent choice for metal and metal-coated products, wood and selected plastics. Because the design is engraved rather than printed, the result is refined, highly durable and particularly suitable for premium business gifts.

  • Excellent durability
  • Precise reproduction of logos and fine details
  • Premium and understated appearance
  • The final colour depends on the underlying material
  • Suitable only for compatible materials
  • Available engraving area depends on product shape
Embossing on promotional products

Embossing

Embossing creates an elegant relief in materials such as leather, PU leather and paper. Blind embossing produces a subtle tone-on-tone effect, while foil embossing adds a coloured metallic foil, most commonly gold or silver. It is an excellent option for notebooks, folders and premium accessories.

  • Elegant and premium appearance
  • Long-lasting branding
  • Existing dies can be reused for repeat orders
  • Die production increases setup cost for small orders
  • Blind embossing does not provide a specified print colour
  • Very fine details may not reproduce well
Embroidery on promotional textiles

Embroidery

Machine embroidery is a premium and highly durable branding method for corporate clothing, workwear, caps, bags and other textile products. The logo is stitched directly into the material using coloured threads, creating a professional three-dimensional finish that withstands regular use and washing.

  • Professional and premium appearance
  • Excellent mechanical durability
  • Ideal for corporate clothing and workwear
  • Thread colours are selected from an available colour range
  • Very large designs can make garments less comfortable
  • Complex artwork with many stitches increases cost
Digital printing on promotional products

Digital Printing

Digital printing is ideal for detailed, full-colour artwork, photographs and colour gradients. Depending on the product and printing system, it can be used on a variety of promotional products and textiles. Because it requires less traditional print preparation, it can also be an efficient solution for smaller quantities and highly detailed designs.

  • Full-colour and photographic reproduction
  • Excellent for detailed and complex artwork
  • Suitable for many smaller production runs
  • Exact Pantone matching may be limited
  • Material compatibility depends on the printing process
  • Other techniques may be more economical for very large quantities
Doming on promotional products

Doming

Doming combines a digitally printed label with a clear resin coating. The resin creates a raised 3D effect, enhances the colours and provides additional protection to the printed design. It is particularly useful for products where direct printing is difficult or where a distinctive three-dimensional branding effect is desired.

  • Distinctive 3D appearance
  • Full-colour artwork
  • Suitable for many products that cannot be printed directly
  • Applied label rather than direct branding
  • Can be removed more easily than permanent direct techniques
  • Requires a suitable, relatively smooth application area
Ceramic and glass firing branding

Ceramic & Glass Firing

This specialised technique is used for durable branding on glass and ceramic products. The decoration is fired at high temperature so that it bonds strongly with the surface. It is particularly suitable for mugs, cups and glasses where long-term resistance to regular washing is important.

  • Highly durable decoration on glass and ceramics
  • Suitable for branding around cups and glasses
  • Good resistance to regular washing
  • Primarily suited to spot-colour artwork
  • Higher setup and production costs
  • Longer production lead times than simpler print methods
Custom stickers for promotional products

Stickers

Custom stickers are a flexible solution when direct branding is not practical or when smaller quantities are required quickly. Different materials and adhesives can be selected according to the product surface and whether the sticker is intended for indoor or outdoor use. Stickers can also be produced in custom shapes.

  • Fast and cost-effective branding option
  • Compatible with a wide range of surfaces
  • Custom shapes and full-colour designs are possible
  • Generally less permanent than direct branding
  • May look less premium on some products
  • Manual application can be time-consuming for large quantities
Sublimation printing on promotional products

Sublimation

Sublimation enables vivid, full-colour reproduction on suitable polyester materials and specially coated products. The design is transferred using heat, allowing detailed photographic artwork and large print areas. White or light-coloured surfaces generally provide the most accurate colour reproduction.

  • Vivid full-colour and photographic printing
  • Suitable for large print areas
  • Excellent detail and colour gradients
  • Exact Pantone matching can be difficult
  • Requires compatible polyester or coated surfaces
  • Heat-sensitive products may not be suitable
Sandblasting on glass ceramic and metal promotional products

Sandblasting

Sandblasting creates a subtle, permanent matt design by directing fine abrasive material onto the product through a prepared template. It is suitable for selected glass, ceramic and metal products and is especially effective on mugs, glasses, bottles and other premium items where discreet branding is preferred.

  • Highly durable branding
  • Elegant and understated appearance
  • No ink or printed layer on the surface
  • The design colour is determined by the treated material
  • Print area is limited by product shape and production process
  • Not suitable for full-colour artwork
Laser branding on fleece textiles

Laser Branding on Fleece

Laser branding can create a subtle, permanent tone-on-tone design on suitable fleece materials. The laser changes the appearance of the textile surface rather than adding ink or thread, resulting in discreet branding that integrates naturally with the fabric.

  • Durable tone-on-tone branding
  • Subtle and professional appearance
  • No additional ink or embroidery thread
  • The final shade depends on the textile material
  • Limited to compatible fleece products
  • Very small details may not reproduce clearly
